The recent Google algorithm updates rewards marketers who frequently add fresh, quality content to their site. Content curation that captures and keep the attention of your target audience can really boost your SEO efforts.

Yesterday, we talked about where you can find content to curate for your site. Once you have gathered relevant, current information in your niche, you are ready for the next step in curating content.

Find a way to add value to your curated content.

Give your visitors a reason to bookmark your site and come back often. If you want to become an authority in your niche, make sure you doing something to differentiate yourself from your competition. You can add value to your curated content in a number of ways.

Add Your Opinion

Even if you find an article that is extremely well presented, you can add value by adding your opinion on the content curation. This allows your audience to hear your true “voice”. It also adds unique content to your site which will help with search engine optimization.

Present a Case Study

The best topics are often the ones that stir up controversy. Brainstorm and research each week to see what is creating the biggest buzz in your niche. Then find articles online that best represent each side of the issue. Then write a case study that presents both sides in an organized way.

Change the Delivery Method

Not everyone likes to get their information in the same way. This is the reason many internet marketers offer several versions of their products. While some people still enjoy reading articles and reports, others prefer watching a video or listening to an audio version. If you have found some great niche articles on a certain topic, why not create a video of the highlights?

Interview an Expert

While doing research for your site, you will find some “hot topics” that everyone is blogging about. Instead of just rehashing the same information, interview an expert on the subject. Many internet marketers will gladly let you interview them, knowing that appearing on your site as an expert will only enhance their reputation. Be sure to include a link back to their site in the bio.

Create a Weekly “Round Up”

Write new content for your site as often as possible. If you are not able to write every day, consider creating weekly “round up” of the best content available in your niche from the previous week. Write an original opening blurb about the topics. Then write a summary of each article you found, including a link back to the original source.

In the following video, business coach Nathaneal Mohr explains how adding value to your curated content can help you reach your target audience.

Very true. attention is the greatest resource you can capture from your target market. Curation is a big strategy we use each and everyday. We even created a curation platform called Curation Traffic. The stories that get the most clicks and conversions are the ones that promise a simple payoff and are very clear in the headline.
